I have a few rules that I’ve learned not from the Bible and the hard way. This is one of them: Never make a decision based on fear.
I have been walking by faith and not fear for a very long time. Many people say I’m courageous- and sometimes I am, by the grace of God. But I didn’t understand how deeply rooted some of my fears were until I learned this one the hard way - more than once. The consequences were very difficult, even traumatic, but the lesson has been learned. Now, I analyze my reasonings and motivations when I’m making decisions, especially about my relationships with other people. I seek His wisdom more and more, because “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5
