When You Pray

How many times have you thought of God in terms of what He can or cannot do? Or prayed for Him to act according to your limited understanding of situation? Come on - we are all guilty of trying to “put God in a box.”

We think we know what’s best, and pray for that outcome to happen a certain way and on a certain schedule (usually RIGHT NOW!). But God knows everything about the situation and He knows what is truly best for everyone involved - and most of the time it doesn’t look anything like what we’ve prayed for... but we prayed! THIS is what is important, and we can pray according to Gods will - letting Him know our desire but that we want and need His action and will in the situation. Asking Him to give us more wisdom and understanding so that we can pray more effectively is also His will.

God is unlimited, and we have an open connection to Him - let’s use it to grow and learn more of His thoughts and ways rather than try to fit God into our own...

““My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-9‬
