The endless tug-of-war between our desire for control and our willingness to surrender to God and just trust him continues. I pray that there is more surrender in my life than striving for control.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 ESV
I pray that I will be a better follower of Christ - this doesn’t mean that I don’t ask questions or seek understanding, quite the contrary - I ask the Lord about everything and I dig into His word for deeper understanding, but ultimately I recognize that He is my King and I choose to bow my knee.
We must walk in humility recognizing that we are not the rulers of our own lives, we have a king and our king has adopted us as children. “Humility is knowing your place and recognizing true authority.” @markdriscoll
