Why are we always in such an all-fired-up hurry?
I’m not finding many verses that tell us to hurry, or force things to happen that in the Bible. In fact, it’s the opposite. “Woe to those who say, “Let Him hurry and hasten His work so that we may see it! Let the plan of the Holy One of Israel come so that we may know it!”” Isaiah 5:19
I do t know about you, but I have definitely had times where I was falling into this trap of hurrying. It wasn’t until I wrote my first book that I became comfortable with waiting on the Lord to orchestrate things. I didn’t just do nothing, I kept serving and praying and being creative while I waited for Him to open doors and provide funding for work He asked me to do. And, of course, He did. And it was not only very different than I could have imagined, it all glorified Him. It was perfect.
So, don’t be discouraged as you actively and productively wait on the Lord! He will do what He said He would do!
