Another translation of this verse says that the Lord is my hiding place. We don’t think of our refuge like that, but it means the place you run to when you need protection, or a break from chaos, or comfort. I have always felt safest at the altar, even though it is a very vulnerable and exposed place, it’s also under the shelter of His presence.
“You are my hiding place
You always fill my heart
With the songs of deliverance
When ever i’m afraid
I will trust in you
I will trust in you
Let the weak say
I am strong,
With the strength of the Lord.”
