Why do you do the things you do?
What motivates you? What are you trying to accomplish?
These are important questions that we often forget to ask - or don’t want to ask. Sometimes the answers are on track, like: “I know I’m called to do this.” “This is a need that I can help with.” But other times the answers are like, “I deserve to have this, so I’m going to make sure I get it.” Or “I want to be the best and be respected and honored.”
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
We are called to be disciples of Christ - Jesus met the needs of others, showed compassion, loved the unlovable, stood up for the guilty and walked humbly, while still holding the immense power of the Holy Spirit. He did things for His Father’s glory, not His own.
