I’ve been learning this lesson more than ever in prison ministry this year. Sitting around the molded tables with women dressed all in orange (including their hats, socks and shoes y,all) with Bibles open and hearts in various stages of renewal. This has been the most humbling thing ever. When I’m able to share stories out of my weakest and most broken moments, they start to believe that they can overcome too. They open up and share their tragic stories and about how Jesus met them in prison. Story after story of redemption - and yet, they’re so afraid they’ll fall apart when they released. We’re trying to help them, one at a time, to walk in as much freedom when they’re free as they do while they’re incarcerated.

Worship with them is amazing - they raise their hands and sing at the top of their lungs. They praise and worship in spirit and in truth. There I am with my little portable keyboard (it sounds terrible) and they are blessed. It’s not about me, it’s only Jesus. #prisonministry @alongsideministries #onlyjesus #freedom #calledandchosen #createdonpurposeforapurpose #shalom #yourjourneytobeingwhole #dailydevotional
