Our focus, our point of view, controls what we can see. This is true in all aspects of life, though. If we are focused on what is missing or broken in our lives, on what others have that we don’t, or on blessings we want that God hasn’t given us - at least not yet - then we will miss what actually matters. You are a child of God and are uniquely equipped and blessed for a purpose. You matter and you are loved.
Yes, you should pour out your heart to God - but never forget what He has already done - this is what the Psalmists all did and how we are instructed too. Never forget that God is good and that He is faithful - even in the darkness.
This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
—Lamentations 3:21-23
