God saved you just where you and oftentimes He wants you to shine right there. In your marriage, your family, your workplace, your community, you are a Christ-bearer. It’s your feet that bring good news. It’s your assignment to bring the salt and light of grace, mercy, love and forgiveness to that place.
Of course God can bless you and move you into better situations or circumstances, if that is His will and purpose - but what if it’s not? What if He has called you to be poor and to reach people like that, or if He’s called you to a life of service rather than to be wealthy? His gifts and callings are irrevocable- they’re not for us to decide, but we do get to choose whether we surrender and submit or rebel and live as a prodigal.
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.””
Joshua 24:15
