How do you hear from the Lord?
He is always speaking in His word - you just have to open it up and read with attention and a heart that is listening. It’s easy to read the Holy word of God without really listening…
The Lord often speaks to me through music and songs and through the message at church. I believe that He anoints the preacher to deliver messages to His people all the time. The key is t only in the heart of that preacher, though that is really important, it’s also in the heart of the receiver. Showing up with the desire and expectation of hearing from God in your heart and spirit matters.
Sometimes the Lord speaks to me in my prayer time, or when I’m driving, or in my dreams and couple of times I’ve had full-blown encounters with Him that still amaze me. I vividly remember the details of these moments when He spoke and I heard Him - it probably wasn’t audible but it was to me and unmistakable too. Those moments were all turning points for me too and I believe they were meant to be. God is still speaking, but we must be listening!
